INTRODUCTION TO TENKARA FLY FISHING

We wade a local tributary and teach you how to set up your rod and flies, read water conditions, and catch native Minnesota brook trout. This simple and effective style of fly fishing can be learned quickly, and is uniquely suited to the streams on the North Shore. Kids 5+ are welcome when accompanied by an adult.

INTRODUCTION TO FLY CASTING

You have always wanted to try fly fishing – here is your chance! You will learn how to properly thread your rod, a proper grip, pick up and lay down, a basic casting stroke and the roll cast. Anyone can learn how to fly cast, and practicing in a field helps beginners learn techniques that can be applied on the water. This course takes place at the local ball field or casting dock.
